We are looking for ambitious Backend Engineers to join our growing team and contribute to the development of our web applications. Who you are
- You’re a software engineer with at least 7 years commercial experience
- You’re looking to develop your skills further as part of an in house team
- You have a genuine enthusiasm for software engineering and take no greater pleasure than finding the right solution to the problem at hand

What you will do
Develop web based systems
- Develop functionality for our own products, administration systems and ecommerce capabilities using modern frameworks
- Develop and maintain integrations with third party systems
- Develop our APIs
Work in a team environment
- You’ll work with other software engineers, designers, QAs and product managers
- You’ll communicate your ideas and plan your work
- You’ll peer review your colleagues work
What we need from you
- At least 7 years of commercial experience as a software engineer or equivalent
- In-depth knowledge of PHP8+
- Familiarity with modern PHP frameworks, preferably Symfony
- Solid understanding of OO programming concepts and patterns
- Familiarity with version control using Git and associated workflows
- Experience with TDD and unit testing
- A strong desire to learn and to contribute to the team’s work
Other skills you might have
- A degree in CS or equivalent is a plus
- Good understanding of HTML and CSS
- Familiarity with modern JS frameworks
- Experience designing and building RESTful APIs
- Knowledge of relational databases
- Comfortable on the command line of *NIX machines
- Experience working in cross functional teams
- An eye for user behaviour and design
