About the position: We are currently seeking a self-motivated, creative and talented Automation Engineer who will thrive on exposing issues and improving the quality of our state of the art trading applications. Automation Test Engineers are constantly challenged to understand complex trading strategies, uncover software issues in our trading platform through testing and to provide feedback that can help enhance our end user experience. For this role, we are looking for an individual to help ramp up our automated test coverage for our various areas of functionality. Key Responsibilities Develop test plans and test cases based on application requirements and technical specifications Execute test plans and scripts to ensure alignment with standard business processes Document IT applications defects in a bug tracking system and report defects to software developers and applications team Perform functional, stress, integration, and regression testing on application solutions Identify, analyze, and document problems with program function, output, online screen, or content Monitor bug resolution efforts and track successes Conduct post-release/post-implementation testing Participate in the design review of new solutions and updates to existing applications Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering or information technology. Experience with scripting automated test cases. Strong understanding of software development life-cycle and test engineering principles and processes Strong analytical skills and commitment to continuous testing improvement Proven work experience as an Application Tester or similar role Familiarity with different types of testing (Integration, System, Functional, etc.)Knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases Experience with automated testing tools is a plus Ability to document and troubleshoot error Knowledge on EDI systems Nice to have: Experience working in financial industry, Futures trading systems or TT trading software. Knowledge of FIX Protocol. Experience with Linux.
